| | scrooge, who is perhaps one of the best, most in-control, safest, and most |
| | sensible fixie riders i know, brakes or no brakes. |

| | especially considering that among his admonitions were suggestions to: |

| | a) forget skidding and learn how to *stop* |
| | |
| | b) use clip-and-strap pedals rather than clipless, for safety and control |
| | |
| | c) "slow down and ride with *sense*" |
| | |
| | all of which make sense, brakes or no brakes. |
