We have our gallery space confirmed for the CMWC 2000 art show, which we hope will be the best ever!  The show will take place at two locations: 4040 and Comet Coffee.

The first space, located at 4040 Locust, will house original artwork and the messenger memorial.  Framed paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry, etc. will be displayed here from Wednesday, August 30th to Friday 6pm, September 1st.  We will host a public reception Wednesday evening, August 30th.  No alcohol will be allowed at 4040 at any time. (If you want a buzz at the opening reception, we’ll give you kava kava tea ;)

Comet Coffee, located at 41st Street and Walnut, will show matted reproductions of messenger art and high quality flyers.  These will be up from the last week of August through the first week of  September.  Thanks much to Alexi of Comet for providing this space---his coffee’s good too!

To submit  art to the 4040 space, you’ll need to ship your art out before August 29th. All media welcome!  High-quality prints or reproductions are welcome too.  Free standing sculpture okay.  If you cannot frame or at least mat your art, please make arrangements with Mike. You can pick up your art during the race weekend or if it needs to be shipped back to you, please include a check for return postage made out to CMWC 2000.

To submit to the Comet space, please send prints (photographic, computer, photocopied, etc.) preferably close to 8.5”x11”. These prints do not need to be framed, since we will be putting them in uniform 12.5”x16” mats.  Slightly larger prints are okay.  If you want your print back, please enclose a SASE.

Sale of stuff:
We will not be selling art for you, but you are welcome to sell your work on your own.  Artists are also encouraged to leave copies of their artists statements, resumes, business cards, et cetera at either locale.

LIABILITY
CMWC 2000 and and its various partners and affiliates are not liable for work on exhibit or work in transit to and from the gallery.  We do promise CMWC personnel will be present the ENTIRE time the gallery is open to safeguard the art work.
